In 1979, Mary and Buddy Brown purchased a small bar called The Town Pump in Westmorland. In the following 3 decades, they converted the bar that housed several pool tables, a shuffleboard, jukebox, and a reputation for late nights, into the premier steakhouse of the Imperial Valley. After 3 decades of running both Brownie’s Diner in Brawley and The Town Pump, Mary and Buddy both retired in 2011 and allowed their son and daughter-in-law, Gabriel and Juanita Rebollar, to continue the family tradition.
Today, The Original Town Pump Steakhouse has 3 dining areas (the main dining room, the bar dining room, and banquet facility), 2 kitchens, a full service bar, and is one of the only places in the entire Valley to offer Brandt Beef and Dry-Aged steaks. Gabriel and Juanita, along with the help of their children, strive to continue and replicate the success and brand that Mary and Buddy Brown established many years ago.
